Divorce essentially means the process by which the marriage is dissolved. A marriage can only be dissolved by the Court after the parties to that marriage have been separated for 12 months. A party to a marriage cannot remarry until they have been divorced. The divorce process generally takes between 3 and 4 months to complete to the Certificate of Divorce being issued.
