TITLE OF BLOG GOES HERE

  1. CONTENT OF BLOG GOES HERE – ENSURE YOU HAVE TICKED ‘VISUAL’ IN THE TOP RIGHT CORNER OF THIS TEXT BOX.
  2. TO INSERT AN IMAGE – CLICK ‘ADD MEDIA’ DIRECTLY ABOVE THEN UPLOAD OR SELECT THE DESIRED IMAGE. USE FREE STOCK IMAGES IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN (SITES LIKE https://www.pexels.com/ AND https://unsplash.com/ ARE GOOD FOR THIS). ALWAYS CHECK THE IMAGE LICENCE. OF COURSE, PAID FOR IMAGES CAN BE PURCHASED AS WELL.
  3. TO INSERT A HYPERLINK TO ANOTHER PAGE, CLICK THE FORMATTING OPTION DIRECTLY ABOVE THAT LOOKS A BIT LIKE A PAPERCLIP WHILE HIGHLIGHTING THE TEXT YOU WANT TO TURN INTO A LINK.
  4. IN ‘CATEGORIES’ TO THE RIGHT, TICK ‘PERTH’ – THIS WILL ENSURE IT APPEARS IN THE LIST OF PERTH BLOGS. IF YOU ALSO WANT IT IN THE LIST OF ADELAIDE BLOGS, TICK ‘ADELAIDE’. ALSO TICK THE RELEVANT CATEGORY (E.G. FAMILY LAW).
  5. YOU CAN SET A FEATURED IMAGE USING THE ‘FEATURED IMAGE’ BOX ON THE RIGHT (YOU MAY NEED TO SCROLL DOWN TO FIND THIS).
  6. TO GET AN IDEA OF WHAT THE FINISHED BLOG WILL LOOK LIKE WHEN UPLOADED, SELECT ‘PREVIEW’ IN THE ‘PUBLISH’ BOX TO THE RIGHT.
  7. TO SAVE A WORK-IN-PROGRESS TO COME BACK TO LATER, WITHOUT UPLOADING, SELECT ‘SAVE DRAFT’ IN THE ‘PUBLISH’ BOX TO THE RIGHT.
  8. TO PUBLISH A FINISHED BLOG, SELECT ‘PUBLISH’ IN THE ‘PUBLISH’ BOX TO THE RIGHT.
  9. ALL DRAFTS AND PREVIOUSLY UPLOADED BLOGS CAN BE ACCESSED FROM THE ‘ALL POSTS’ LINK IN THE MAIN MENU TO THE LEFT. TO EDIT, SIMPLY SELECT THE DESIRED BLOG, MAKE THE CHANGES AND THEN PUBLISH THOSE CHANGES (FOR ALREADY UPLOADED BLOGS, THE ‘PUBLISH’ LINK WILL BE CHANGED TO ‘UPDATE’).

There are many more options to play around with, but following the above will allow you to create basic blogs and make edits. WordPress is fairly intuitive, so the more you use it you may find yourself tinkering with some of the other options. If you don’t know what something does though, don’t tinker with it or ask first – in particular though, do not play around with the features from ‘Appearance’ down in the menu (as these could affect the whole site and cause problems).
